Press Release - Writtle Art Group Leslie Bass Trophy

The Writtle Art Group held its annual Autumn Exhibition in Writtle village hall on Saturday 8th November.

With an excellent attendance and many pictures sold it was a very successful show.  The exhibits maintained their usual high standard and there were many complimentary remarks about the high level of artistic content.

With a great diversity of artwork the visiting public were asked to cast their vote for their favourite picture, where the winning artist would receive the prestigious “Leslie Bass Trophy”.

This year’s worthy winner was Alan Vann with his beautiful and atmospheric watercolour painting of “Sunrise over Heybridge Basin” with 12 votes.  In a “Titanic battle” with 11 votes joint runners-up were Alan again with “Balloon over the Blackwater”, Sheila Deal with “Canal at Dusk” and Peter Robson with Racing Red".


  

Writtle Art Group Autumn Exhibtion

The 2014 Autumn Exhibition held on Saturday the 8th of November attracted nearly 200 visitors who enjoyed viewing well over 300 pictures.  A small selection of paintings are shown below and the usual apologies are offered for the lack of watercolour work (glass reflections make photographing very difficult).

WRITTLE ART GROUP Chelmsford Museum Art Exhibition


The Writtle Art Group presented a highly successful exhibition of paintings at the Chelmsford Museum over the Christmas period. .

The Exhibition was opened by Robert Villa, the Lord Mayor of Chelmsford on the 15th of November, entry was free and ran until 11th January 2015.
