Peter Pegg awarded the Bass Trophy for 2016

Presented to Writtle Art Group in 1976 by Leslie Bass, the trophy is awarded to the most popular painting of the annual Autumn Exhibition. Viewers vote for their favourite picture and the "winner" holds the trophy for one year.

This year's winner was Peter Pegg with "Moody Blue" - an atmospheric street scene - with Liang Hsiang Porter's "Winter Green" taking second place. To complete a very fulfilling exhibition Peter also took third place with "Purple Rain".

50th Anniversary of Writtle Art Group

Writtle Art Group celebrated its 50th year with a special 2 day exhibition. Balloons, music from 1966, a montage of scenes of Writtle Village painted by members, over 300 paintings to view and purchase, and a veritable feast of cakes and teas ensured visitors had an enjoyable and memorable visit.

About Me

My photo
I started to paint on retirement and enjoy painting in a variety of styles. Although willing to have a go at most scenes or objects the classical East Anglian landscape scenes is my favourite. I am a member of the Writtle Art Group and The Griffin Art Group of Danbury and show at local exhibitions
